Fabrics for Swedish Huck WeavingSwedish embroidery (aka huck embroidery, Swedish weaving, huckaback darning) is done by sliding thread through loops on cotton fabric to create a design. The loops are also known as floaters. Since the fabric is never pierced, all of the threads remain on one side.
Huck Fabric: vertical loops, 14 count, stitched with embroidery floss or pearle cotton, size 24 tapestry needle
Huck Toweling: same as huck fabric but with a shorter width and prefinished edges
Monk's Cloth: alternating vertical and hoizontal loops, 7 count, stitched with yarn, yarn darner needle
Stockholm: alternating vertical and horizontal loops, 7.5 count, also available as prefinished placemats, table runners, and tablecloths
